We are 3 or more jestering monkeys, summoning the spirit and general flair of our favorite american newscaster. We will discuss, debate and debase all things that tingle our tummies - sex, politics, music, culture and of course - sex. And politics.

THE GO! TEAM "The Power is On" in MP3 clip

As soon as I can figure out how to host mp3 clips myself - i'm stuck sending you out to hear this great band via very low quality clips hosted at online record store.

I hope you are grooving on the catchy-ness of this. They play at Optimo in Glasgow this weekend (the coolest club night in the western hemisphere says Vanzetti), but I'll unfortunately be eating cheese in France at that time.

THE GO! TEAM

THE GO! TEAM

Click here to listen to FEELGOOD BY NUMBERS via steaming audio

Before i pick up the phone to call the GeneMachine - I need to let all that do not yet know of this group that you must immediately locate their album (preferably on vinyl!) and play it very loud.

The Go! Team are a collective out of Brighton. I didn't pick up on them at first as I mistook them for an old group on Kill Rock Stars which i saw once and didn't like (I think it was made up of a few members of Bikini Kill and the omnipresent Calvin Johnson). Anyway - this is a new group and they do share a couple of things in common with the KRS and K Records folks - this Go! Team are ALSO enamoured of lo-fi sound recording and happy jumping up and down kinds of music.

Made up of a collective that includes two drummers (both women) and an amazingly great shouty female singer with a "double dutch" lyrical style. I'm not sure where all of the spine tingling horns come from (sampled or studio only) but they are upbeat and all of these sounds come together in some sort of punk funk hip hop perfection.

Sorry for the effusiveness. No. I'm not sorry. I mean it. Buy their album " Thunder, Lightning, Strike" post haste. Post here if you need help tracking it down.

Before the day is through I intend to succeed in putting up a sample off the album that all hairy reasoners will be able to download as an MP3.
